Kroeker Hoping To Make Astronaut Short List

UPDATE: Kroeker Makes The Cut

Canada's next astronaut could be Chatham-native Dr. Erik Kroeker.

He's one of 32 candidates who are still in the running for two open spots.

Canada's science and innovation minister, Navdeep Bains, is expected to help introduce the final candidates at 10am Monday at the Holiday Inn in Toronto.

Kroeker previously told BlackburnNews.com he is honoured to be among Canada's finest scientists, doctors, and military personnel.

He has a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he's currently working as a staff scientist and a university lecturer.
