Planned Hwy. 401 Closure In Chatham

Heads-up drivers, the Hwy. 401 will be completely shutdown through Chatham from Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The Ministry of Transportation says all lanes of the Hwy. 401 will be closed between Bloomfield Rd. and Kent Bridge Rd. from 8pm on April 29, 2017 to at least 10am on April 30, 2017 for demolition work on the Hwy. 40 underpass.

There will be a local detour in place with signs posted.

Eastbound traffic will be re-routed off the highway via Bloomfield Rd., Park Ave, Hwy. 40, Longwoods Rd., and Kent Bridge Rd. with police helping to direct drivers at intersections.

Even though detours will be in place, you can still expect to experience delays while the closure is in effect.
