CK Expo On Saturday In Chatham

The John D. Bradley Convention Centre will be alive with comics and cosplay today, for Chatham's very own comicon.

CK Expo started out as a gaming convention with some costumes, but in its 4th year has grown into a sold-out event with a little something for everyone.

"That's the one thing [we] try very hard to do is find vendors that are unique," says organizer Rob Bellamy. "We go to conventions everywhere and we find those unique people and ask them to come."

This year will feature everything pop culture -- from guest panels to artists, live demonstrations and movies, and video and arcade games. And don't forget the celebrities.

Special guests include Olivia Hack, who's been in Gilmore Girls and the Brady Bunch Movie; Sean Rogerson, who's appeared on Supernatural; Corin Nemec, who's also been on Supernatural as well as Stargate; and Rochelle Davis, who was in The Crow. Bellamy says Rufus The Impala from Supernatural is also coming back, and this year they're offering rides.

"I can honestly say we're sold out for tables this year," he says. "And it's looking great. It's the biggest that it's ever been."

Tickets are $10 at the door, and Bellamy says everything that doesn't pay for the event goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters. It's on from 10am until 6pm.
