Quebec Man Charged In Hwy. 401 Tractor Trailer Crash

A man from Quebec has been charged after his transport truck crashed into a sign on Hwy. 401 near Chatham.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 7am, the tractor trailer lost control in the westbound lanes of the highway near Drake Rd. The vehicle hit a road sign before coming to a rest in the north ditch.

No one was injured in the crash.

The driver, a 53-year-old man from LaSalle, Quebec, is now charged with careless driving.

Hwy. 401 between Bloomfield Rd. and Queens Line was closed for about an hour to allow for the removal of the vehicle.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
