Could Be The End Of The Road For Parkfield Restaurant

Parkfield Restaurant in Chatham has closed for at least four months.

A memo from Community Living Chatham-Kent, who runs the eatery at Bloomfield Rd. and Park Ave. W, states the Ministry of Community and Social Services directed them to take steps to move away from sheltered work and into alternative programming.

The closure took effect May 1 because ministry funding is uncertain.

Community Living Chatham-Kent says every option is being explored to keep the restaurant open.

In the meantime, the workers with developmental disabilities continue doing day programs and activities on site.
