Premier Expected To Announce High Speed Rail System

Ontario's premier will make an announcement on Friday that is expected to centre on a high speed rail system in Southwestern Ontario.

Premier Kathleen Wynne will make the announcement at the Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre in London at 9:45am. She will be accompanied by Deputy Premier Deb Matthews and Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca.

No details have been released by the premier's office regarding Friday's announcement.

It was announced in the 2017 provincial budget that government was looking to bring high speed rail to the Windsor, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Toronto corridor.  The Ontario government appointed a special advisor to assist the province and provide recommendations on the delivery of high speed rail in Southwestern Ontario.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
