ERCA Upgrades Advisory To Flood Warning

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has upgraded a flood advisory for Leamington to a flood warning.

Winds of up to 50kph is blamed for flooding in the Cotterie Park Rd. area. Roads and private land are covered with water.

Flooding, shoreline erosion and damaging waves are also anticipated throughout the night along the easterly shore of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee Naitonal Park. The public is asked to stay away from the shore.

If you must travel through flooded areas, officials say use extreme caution.

The Municipality of Leamington is also advised to monitor dykes in the southeastern portion of the municipality.

Areas along the Detroit River may also experience elevated water levels.

The flood warning is in effect until 9am Sunday, May 21. An advisory for the entire Lake Erie shoreline expires Tuesday, May 23.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
