UPDATE: Amber Alert Cancelled For 2-Year-Old Girl

An Amber Alert has been cancelled for 2-year-old Eva Kaminski.

The Ontario Provincial Police say she was found safe early Sunday morning.

Police had listed Kaminski's step father, Brad Farand, as a suspect in the incident.

The OPP from the Rainy River District Detachment say they were called about a domestic dispute in Chapple Township on Saturday. Once police arrived to the scene they found out that Farand had left the area with Kaminski, which resulted in an Amber Alert.

Once Kaminski was located in safe condition, Farand was arrested. He now faces several charges, which include

  • Three counts of assault
  • Choking to overcome resistance
  • Mischief
  • Taking a motor vehicle without consent
  • Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood
Farand was also charged with not wearing a seat belt and novice driver related offences, under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police say Farand will appear before a judge via teleconference on May 22.
