Camping Season Kicks Off

It's time to gear up for camping season, now that the Lower Thames Conservation Areas are open.

Families can cool off by Lake Erie all summer long, or enjoy a weekend getaway in the forest.

Close by is the C.M Wilson Conservation Area in Chatham. It's open until October 19, where campers can hitch their tents or pull up a trailer to explore the wildlife.

Other campgrounds to check out include:

  • Big Bend Conservation Area campground (Southwest Middlesex) - Open for family, group, or season camping until Thanksgiving Monday
  • E.M Warwick Conservation Area (West Elgin)- Best for camping in groups
  • Longwoods Road Conservation Area (Strathroy-Caradoc)- Site used for conservation groups like Scouts and Girl Guides

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
