Spitfires Down Otters To Advance To Memorial Cup Final

The Windsor Spitfires will advance to the Memorial Cup final after beating the Erie Otters 4-2 on Wednesday.

Jeremiah Addison led the Spitfires with two back-to-back goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead heading into the second. Mikhail Sergachev added another goal for Windsor 43 seconds into the second frame.

The Otters made it on the board 8:10 into the third, but Addison scored again to complete a hat trick and give Windsor a 4-1 lead.  Erie scored late in the final frame, but the Spitfires held them back in the final minutes to win with a two goal advantage.

Windsor goaltender Michael DiPietro made 33 saves out of 35 shots on net.

On Friday, the Otters return to take on the Saint John Sea Dogs in the last semi-final game.  Windsor will face the winner on Sunday at 7pm in the Memorial Cup final.  To buy tickets, click here.
