Girlfriend Assaulted, Mother-In-Law Threatened

This guy won't be winning "son-in-law of the year" anytime soon.

A 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged after allegedly threatening to kill his mother-in-law and allegedly assaulting his common-law girlfriend after an argument around 4am on Wednesday.

A heated argument with his girlfriend woke up her mother and when she intervened, the man allegedly threatened her.

The mother went to the police station to report the incident and, according to police, continued receiving text messages from her daughter alleging the man was hurting her.

Officers found the daughter and her two children locked out of their home by the man.

They also found damage inside the home valued at $1,500.

The girlfriend suffered minor injuries.
