Boy Hit By Car Released From Hospital

An 8-year-old boy who was hit by a car on Thames St. earlier this week is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say the boy has been released from the hospital after he was rushed to London via air ambulance for medical treatment following the crash Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the boy's family says he has suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say the driver who hit the boy was going approximately 40 km/h at the time of the crash, which is under the 50 km/h speed limit in that area.

Officers say the driver was emotionally distraught as a result of the collision, but she didn't suffer any physical injuries. She's not facing any charges either.

As a result of the crash, police are asking parents to remind their children to look both ways before crossing the street.
