US President Donald Trump says the suspect who was taken into custody following a shooting at a congressional baseball practice Wednesday morning has died in hospital.
House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana was shot in the hip. According to CNN, Scalise was listed as "critical condition" after having surgery; it's unknown whether or not he'll have another surgery later on.
President Trump took to Twitter shortly after the shooting to show his support for Scalise.
Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, a true friend and patriot, was badly injured but will fully recover. Our thoughts and prayers are with him.

Rep. Mo Brooks, a Republican congressman from Alabama, told CNN that at least five people were shot over a period of about 15 seconds.
