Hydro One reported that around 1,271 customers in Wallaceburg and Walpole were experiencing a power outage as of 7:30pm on Friday.
A small cluster of about 30 hydro customers in Chatham also had their power off on Stone Ave. after trees fell on nearby power lines.
Less than 100 customers remain without power in the Mitchell's Bay and Grande Pointe areas as of Saturday afternoon.
Local runners will lace up this weekend in support of cancer research.
Over 40 candidates are competing for a spot on the Walpole Island First Nation band council in the upcoming election on Saturday, September 19.
The event was originally planned to commemorate Corunna almost becoming the capital of Canada.
A meet the candidates night is planned on Monday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre.
The series will bring both aspiring and established business owners together on Tuesday evenings at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre.
Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
