Money For Upgrades At Local Hospitals

Over $2.5-million is headed to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to help with repairs and upgrades.

$1,883,930 is going to the Sydenham District Hospital in Wallaceburg, while $643,722 is earmarked for the hospital in Chatham.

The money is from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund (HIRF), which helps hospitals make critical improvement to their facilities.

The funding can be used for everything from upgrading or replacing roofs, windows, heating and air conditioning, fire alarms, and backup generators.
