Chatham Woman Wins With Crossword

A 23-year-old Chatham woman has won $50,000 with an Instant Crossword game.

Justine Anderson recently picked up her winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I thought I won $10,000; I took it to the store and checked it and it said ‘Big Winner $50,000,’” said Anderson in a media release. “I spoke to the OLG representative and she told me that this was for real and that I actually won!"

Anderson mentioned in the release that she plans to spend her winnings on paying off debt, taking a vacation, and putting the rest towards a new home.

As stated in the release, she has been playing scratch tickets for a few years but had never had such a major win.

“This win allows me not to worry and enjoy life a bit more," she said. "I’m so young so I should at least be able to enjoy it. Being stuck with debt at a young age is a burden, so this helps a lot!”

Anderson is a behavioral therapist for children with autism.

The OLG says Anderson bought the scratch ticket from Mac’s on McNaughton Ave. in Chatham.
