Sasseville Sets New Canada Games Record

When Chatham's Genevieve Sasseville returns from Winnipeg, she'll have a handful of gold medals and a new record to her name.

The 14-year-old Chatham Pool Shark swimmer broke the Canada Games 50 m butterfly record en route to winning gold Wednesday night.

She swam her fastest time in the finals, finishing in 27.51 seconds and breaking the previous record of 27.59.

Sasseville also won gold with Team Ontario in the 4x50m female relay Tuesday night and another gold in the relay 4x100m Wednesday night.

Friday is the final day of competition in Winnipeg.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
