UPDATE: Thunderstorm Watch Ends for Windsor, Chatham

The unofficial end of summer brought some wild weather to the region.

Environment Canada had issued a severe thunderstorm warning earlier Monday for the following areas:

  • Windsor-Leamington-Essex County
  • Chatham-Kent-Rondeau Park
Radar had indicated a line of severe weather moving through the Detroit area and affecting Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

The warning was downgraded to a watch around 8:45pm after the storms had moved out of the area. All advisories were cancelled within the following hour.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
