IPM Site Near Walton Ready To Go

Exhibitors and vendors are putting the finishing touches on their displays and presentations today at the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo.

The 100th edition of the IPM opens tomorrow morning at the sprawling site, just south of Walton.

The Bruce Power parade is scheduled to start at 10:00, with the official opening ceremonies and speeches at 11:30 at the Main Stage.

The host municipality, Huron East, is expecting an estimated 25 to 30 thousand people a day to visit the site over the next five days.

A provincial study concluded that the 2016 IPM near Harriston generated close to 29 million dollars in economic spinoffs in Wellington County.

This is the fifth time Huron County has hosted an IPM - the most recent being in 1999 near Dashwood.
