Impaired Driving Charge After Hwy. 401 Rollover

The OPP have laid an impaired driving charge in connection with a crash early Friday morning on the Hwy. 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Police say they got a call at around 5am Friday about a westbound vehicle that had left the highway and rolled over several times before stopping in a ditch near Mull Rd.

The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Officers say the woman who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash had allegedly been consuming alcohol. As a result, she was taken back to police headquarters for further tests.

A 31-year-old Lakeshore woman is now charged with impaired driving and is set to appear in court on October 27.
