Chatham Cop Back In Court

A Chatham-Kent police officer is scheduled to return to Chatham Court on Monday for a preliminary inquiry of several sexual assault charges dating back to 2013.

Kenneth Miller, 46, has been charged by Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) with sexual assault and breach of trust by a public officer.

Some charges stem from a sexual assault that allegedly took place in May of 2013, involving a 33-year-old woman.

Miller is also charged with sexual assault and breach of trust in relation to an incident that occurred in August of 2015 when it's alleged a woman was driven in a marked cruiser to a parking lot in the Orangewood Blvd. area, and was sexually assaulted.

Miller was suspended from duty when the investigation started on August 27, 2015, and was also charged with discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act.

The SIU is a civilian agency that investigates incidents involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
