Wallaceburg Store Owner Assaulted

A Wallaceburg store owner had to be airlifted to hospital after an assault at a store on Dufferin Ave.

Chatham-Kent police say a man entered the drug paraphernalia store around 7:30pm Tuesday and the pair started arguing, which escalated into an assault.

The extent of the injuries to the owner are unknown at this time, but the victim was were taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance before being airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London for further assessment.

Police identified a suspect thanks to video surveillance. A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested at Sam's Hotel shortly before 10pm. He's charged with assault, and assault causing bodily harm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
