Wallaceburg Man Attacked With Golf Club

A 27-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with assault after another man was hit over the head with a golf club.

Police say the two men know each other and live at Sam’s Hotel at 1531 Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg.

Officers arrived at the hotel on October 27 around 8:30pm and noticed the victim had a broken jaw and a severe head injury, but the suspect was gone.  The victim was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and then to Windsor Regional Hospital.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday at 4pm and charged with aggravated assault.  He was also arrested on six additional warrants from Chatham-Kent police unrelated to the assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
