Spitfires Maul Bulldogs 4-1

The Windsor Spitfires earned their third straight win with a 4-1 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday.

Aaron Luchuk scored late in the first period to give Windsor the lead heading into the second, where Sean Day added another goal 1:31 into the frame. Windsor kept the Bulldogs at bay and jumped to 3-0 in the second when Tyler Angle scored after 4:12.

Mathew MacDougall added another goal to Windsor's lead 9:55 into the third to bring the score to 4-0.  Goaltender Michael DiPietro was able to keep Hamilton scoreless until the end of the frame when they made it on the board with just over a minute left to play.

DiPietro made 27 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Spitfires will head to Erie on Saturday to battle the Otters at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
