Baseball Bat Assault In Wallaceburg

A Wallaceburg man is in trouble after allegedly threatening his neighbour and damaging a cell while in police custody.

Officers were called to an apartment complex on Dufferin Ave. around 9:30pm Tuesday after a man allegedly started banging on his neighbour's door and yelled threats at him while holding a baseball bat.

The 54-year-old was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and uttering threats.

Police took him to headquarters in Chatham. While he was in custody, he allegedly damaged the jail cell and urinated on the floor. That lead to a charge of mischief.

The man remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
