A Chatham councillor wants to make the community more inclusive by introducing a rainbow crosswalk.
Brock McGregor pitched the idea at the transgender flag raising on Tuesday at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre. He says council will discuss the issue at the next council meeting on Monday night.

McGregor says the crosswalks are starting to pop up in bigger cities.
"They're in other communities like Toronto, London and Vancouver and it's a crosswalk that marks pride in the community. So, we're looking to have those installed by next summer," says McGregor.
McGregor says it's important to make different genders welcome and comfortable.
"As a demonstration that we appreciate the work that CK Pride has done in our community to make it easier to live their lives the way they want. So, I'm hoping that's going to move forward and that we can demonstrate the type of community we really are," McGregor says.
He says we're all humans who want to be accepted and supported.
"A pretty simple gesture that demonstrates that we're allies in our community and that we're supportive of anyone that wants to make Chatham-Kent home," says McGregor.
It’s the second year for the transgender flag raising in Chatham-Kent.
