Christmas Parade Coming To Wallaceburg

The Wallaceburg Knights of Pythias are using Canada's 150th as inspiration for this year's theme at the 51st annual Christmas parade.

Chairman Robert Micks says the theme is "Celebrating 150 years of Canadian Christmas".

The parade will start at 2pm on November 18. However, Micks says those looking to be in the parade should show up about an hour before-hand.

"We're hoping to see a bunch of people who have their vehicles dressed up [for the parade]," he says. "We like to see what people come up with."

There will be awards/plaques given out in categories such as: best overall float, best themed float, judges choice, and best decorated lawnmower.

Environment Canada is forecasting rain on Saturday, but Micks says the parade will go on rain or shine.

The parade route will start at Arnold St., go down through Dufferin Ave. to Jame St., down to Nelson St. The parade will end at the corner of Elgin and Duncan, at Our Lady of Help Christian Church.
