Community Improvement Group Gets CKPS Board Citation

A community-minded group called "FIRST Strategy' is the latest to get a citation from the Chatham-Kent Police Services Board.

The name stands for "Fast Intervention Risk Specific Teams" Strategy and its goal is to enhance community safety and the well-being in Chatham-Kent.  FIRST Strategy started two years ago and has 23 agencies that range from health to children services to employment and social services.

The group has developed 34 collaborative intervention plans to help reduce risk and avoid harm to people, families and homes across Chatham-Kent.

The model is the first and only of its kind in Ontario.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
