Tax Receipts Available For Crosswalk Donations

The municipality is officially taking in donations for the rainbow crosswalk coming to Chatham.

The project was approved by municipal council Monday night. The crosswalk will be painted on the corner of King St. and Second St. in 2018 and is expected to cost about $8,000.

Provincial funding is available, but $2,000 needs to be raised in order to go ahead with the rainbow crosswalk.

Residents who would like to donate can either go to a municipal service centre or call 519-360-1998. Tax receipts are available and will be mailed to donors at a later date.
