Man Charged For Going 210 km/h On Hwy. 401

Driving on Hwy. 401 with a lead foot didn't turn out well for a man from the greater Toronto area.

Chatham-Kent OPP say officers they stopped an eastbound vehicle on the highway near Duart Rd. at around 11:30pm on November 24 after officers clocked it going 210 km/h. During a search of the vehicle, police say officers found 10 grams of marijuana.

A 22-year-old Etobicoke man has been charged with drug possession, racing a vehicle, and driving a vehicle without a licence. In addition to the charges, the driver's vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He's set to appear in court January 11, 2018.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
