ATVs Allowed On Roads in Lakeshore

Off road vehicles and ATVs will be allowed on some municipal roads in Lakeshore starting Friday.

They will be allowed on roads until April 20 from 7am until 10pm daily on designated roads in the communities of Stoney Point and Lighthouse Cove.

The town conducted a pilot project in January of 2016 and after months of no incidents decided to create a seasonal bylaw.

The operator and vehicle must follow regulations set out by the Ontario government. Those include having a vehicle permit, a displayed number plate and the vehicle must be insured. All drivers must ve over the age of 16 and must wear a motorcycle helmet.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
