Maroons Fall 6-4 To Legionnaires

The Chatham Maroons dropped a 6-4 decision to the Legionnaires following a third period comeback by Sarnia on Thursday.

Josh King and Cameron Welch both scored for Chatham early in the first period, but the Legionnaires countered with two goals of their own shortly after. Steven Fowler put the Maroons in the lead with a goal in the final seconds of the first frame.

The Maroons took a 4-2 advantage over Sarnia after Fowler scored his second of the night 11:46 into the second.

The Legionnaires came back strong in the third, scoring four back-to-back goals to complete their comeback.

Maroons goaltender John Massara made 29 saves out of 34 shots on net.

The Maroons return home on Sunday to take on the Strathroy Rockets at 7pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
