Leamington Crash Kills One Person

The Ontario Provincial Police says one person has died following a collision between a taxi cab and a minivan in Leamington.

On Sunday at around 8pm, the OPP, Essex EMS, and Leamington Fire Services responded to a two-vehicle head on collision on Hwy. 77 in Leamington.

Police say a taxi cab with four passengers and a minivan with only a driver collided south of Mersea Rd. 5.

According to police, one person was killed and the other five people involved were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Hwy. 77, between Essex County Rd. 18 and Mersea Rd. 5 was closed for several hours during the police investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
