UPDATE: Dangerously Cold In Windsor-Essex & Chatham-Kent

Environment Canada has ended its extreme cold warning for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

It issued the warning Tuesday because windchill values overnight were expected to dip to near minus 30 C.

The weather forecaster says extreme cold puts everyone at risk and urge people to cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with a windchill.

Checking on older family, friends and neighbours is also recommended.

Pets should also be brought inside.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or a windchill creates an elevated risk of health issues such as frostbite and hypothermia.
