Stars And Maroons End Game In 4-4 Tie

The Chatham Maroons tied the St. Thomas Stars 4-4 after double overtime on Friday.

St. Thomas hammered the Maroons in the first period by scoring three back-to-back goals, before Tyler Beneteau scored to put Chatham on the board late in the frame.

Steven Fowler scored for the Maroons just over two minutes into the second but the Stars countered with another goal of their own to make it 4-2.  The Maroons made it 4-3 thanks to a goal from Thomas Michaud after 14:10.

Fowler scored his second goal of the night late in the third to tie the game and force OT.  After no scoring in two periods of overtime, the game ended in a tie.

"The first period was a little bit slow but we came in the locker room, regrouped and in the second period came out a lot stronger," says Fowler. "We knew we could come back... we got a point out of it so I think everyone is happy."

The Maroons are back on the home ice on Sunday to take on the Komoka Kings. The puck drops at 7pm.
