Conservation Authority Warns About Rising Water Levels

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority has issued a safety bulletin warning about high flowing waterways and unsafe banks.

The authority says warmer temperatures, some rainfall and melting ice from Friday through Monday could be dangerous for anglers, canoeists, hikers, children and pets even though flooding is not expected. LTVCA says water levels on the Thames River are now dropping in the downstream areas and levels in Chatham have dropped 50cm since the peak.

This safety bulletin is in effect until Monday.
