Nationals Dominate Maroons 6-1

The Chatham Maroons suffered a rough 6-1 loss to the London Nationals on Wednesday.

James Turner scored the only goal of the first period, and Riley MacRae added another in the second to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead. Josh Supryka scored for Chatham 4:48 into the second frame, however, MacRae and Kyle Dawson scored back-to-back goals to give London a 4-1 lead heading into the third.

London continued to dominate in the final period with Carson Brookshaw scoring early in the frame. MacRae followed up by completing a hat-trick to cap off the win for the Nationals.

Despite the loss, Maroons goaltender Ryan Wagner made a total of 45 saves during the game. Nationals goalie David Ovsjannikov made 16 saves out of 17 shots on net.

The Maroons will look to bounce back when they take on the Lincolns in St. Marys on Friday at 7:30pm. And then on Sunday, the Nationals head to LaSalle to battle the Vipers at 2:30pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
