Speeder Busted On Hwy. 401 In CK

Chatham-Kent OPP have busted a lead-footed driver on Hwy. 401.

Police say an officer nabbed a speeder in the westbound lanes near Charing Cross Rd. Sunday afternoon. The officer clocked the vehicle doing more than 150 km/hr and charged a man from Ingersoll. The 19-year-old is charged with racing and stunt driving.

His licence has been suspended and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

He could face a fine between $2,000 and $10,000 if he's convicted. He could also add six demerit points to his licence, spend up to 6 months in jail, and have his licence suspended for up to two years for a first conviction.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
