Driver Goes The Wrong Way On The Hwy. 401

Chatham-Kent OPP say a driver they pulled over for going the wrong way on the Hwy. 401 over the weekend is facing drunk driving charges.

Police say they got the call at around 2am Saturday after someone spotted a vehicle heading west in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Harwich Rd.

Officers pulled the driver over and believed she had been drinking alcohol, so they took her to police headquarters for further testing.

As a result of those tests, a 41-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with impaired driving. She's also charged with driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor inside, drug possession (marijuana), and driving without a valid permit.
