Transport Crash Closes 401 For Five Hours

Drivers heading toward Windsor had to take a detour Tuesday morning after a pair of transport trucks collided on Hwy. 401 near Dutton shutting down the westbound lanes.

OPP said the crash at Currie Rd. happened around 5am and sent debris across the highway.

The initial investigation has shown a transport truck was pulling onto the 401 from a service centre when it was hit from behind by a second tractor trailer, according to Sergeant Dave Rektor.

The drivers of the trucks were treated for minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for five hours but were reopened shortly after 10am.

So far, no charges have been laid.
