Maroons Hammer Stars 5-1

Bryce Yetman scored twice to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 5-1 victory over the St. Thomas Stars on Friday.

Yetman kicked off the game with a goal for Chatham 1:42 into the first period, but the Stars tied things up at 1-1 with a goal before the end of the frame.

Noah Bushnell and Josh Supryka scored back-to-back goals in the second to gain the lead for the Maroons heading into the third.

Grant Spence scored late in the third frame and Yetman added another with just under two minutes left to play to cap off the win for Chatham.

Maroons goaltender Ryan Wagner made 28 saves out of 29 shots on net.

The Maroons return home to battle the LaSalle Vipers on Sunday at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
