Significant Rainfall Expected In Region

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex, calling for heavy rainfall beginning Monday afternoon.

According to the weather agency, a warm front brought by a low pressure system will move through the region on Monday and bring a few rounds of rain.

Meteorologists say rainfall amounts of 10 to 20mm of rain are possible as the weather system moves through portions of Southwestern Ontario Monday afternoon. Reports say the rain will taper off later Monday afternoon with another round of showers and rainfall in the evening.

There is also the potential for flooding in poorly drained areas.

Occassional rainfall, coupled with mild spring-like temperatures, is expected again on Tuesday.

This weather statement will be updated as necessary.
