Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer made a stop in Chatham.
It was his first ever visit to the municipality.
The opposition party leader spoke to a large crowd of about 150 at Smitty’s Restaurant on Thursday. He talked to the media about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), marijuana, the Sombra Ferry and flooding but roasted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau several times during his 15-minute speech.

Scheer is criticizing the Liberals for running deficits.
"They are reaching into the future and borrowing money from my kids and your kids and grandkids and they're spending it today on their political agenda. Friends that is inter-generational theft, it is unjust and Conservatives will always fight against irresponsible Liberal spending," says Scheer.
Scheer is slamming Trudeau for coming to the table too late to protect NAFTA. NAFTA is a free trade agreement signed by Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. in 1994.
He's promising to put pressure on the Liberals to fix the Sombra Ferry dock, alleviate community concerns surrounding legal marijuana and provide better flooding relief if his party ever gets power.
Scheer says the Conservatives won't run deficits.
"Deficits today mean higher taxes tomorrow. It means a lower quality of life and an extra burden that will have to be paid back. We would never leave a credit card bill for our kids to pay or rack up a bunch of debt and then pass it on," he says.
Scheer is accusing Trudeau of running the government like a reality TV show and uses the current India trip as an example.
"An eight-day trip and only a day and half worth of meetings. Someone needs to tell Justin Trudeau that being prime minister is not a reality TV show and he needs to start delivering for Canadians," says Scheer.
