Vipers Bite Maroons In Game 1

The Chatham Maroons dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the LaSalle Vipers in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series on Wednesday.

Jake O'Donnell drew first blood for the Maroons with a goal 3:44 into the game, but Aidan Ryan scored for the Vipers after 11 minutes to tie things up heading into the second period.

After no scoring in the second frame, Aaron Shaw scored to give LaSalle the lead early in the third. However, Dakota Bohn added a goal for Chatham to force OT with just over a minute left to play

Bradley Vincent scored the game-winner for the Vipers 6:54 into extra time.

The Maroons will now look to bounce back in Game 2 on Thursday. The puck drops at 7pm in Chatham.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
