Chatham Casino Doesn't Bother Riverview Gaming Centre

Riverview Gaming Centre in Chatham isn't too worried about a new casino moving in.

Owner Carla Fox says she's optimistic the two can co-exist because they're two different markets offering different entertainment. She says bingo customers tend to get more bang for their buck because their entertainment dollars are stretched further, whereas casino patrons tend to spend their money quicker.

Fox says her bingo parlour on Riverview Dr. just west of Keil Dr. shouldn't lose any business because of the new Cascades Casino at Richmond and Keil. She says her customers already travel to Dresden and Windsor casinos to play and hopes they continue visiting her bingo hall.

Fox says Riverview Gaming Centre helps over 100 charities and hopes that doesn't change, either.

Cascades Casino should open in Chatham before 2020. Construction is set to begin this spring pending necessary governmental approvals.
