UPDATE: Damage Estimate In After Fire At Doverdoon Estates

Fire officials say the damages are estimated at $150,000 after a fire broke out at a townhouse in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services reported the blaze at around 9:30pm Thursday at a home within Doverdoon Estates on Baldoon Rd.

Officials say when firefighters arrived, they found a garage that is attached to the home going up in flames, adding that everyone who was inside the home was able to get out safely before firefighters arrived.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews say the blaze was "quickly brought under control" and "mostly contained to the garage area of the home" but there was still some smoke and water damage to the neighbouring units.

There is no word on what sparked the blaze yet and the Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to assist with the investigation.
