Chatham-Kent police say the man and his girlfriend had an argument Sunday night at their home in Wallaceburg but it escalated into a physical altercation.
Investigators say the woman tried to leave but the man allegedly stopped her. She was eventually allowed to leave and notified police.
The suspect was arrested early Monday morning.
