A Wet Tuesday On The Way

There's lots of rain on the way for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement stating that significant rainfall will start very early Tuesday morning. The agency says that a warm front associated with a low-pressure area will move through the region, bringing 15 mm to 25 mm of rain until Tuesday night.

Environment Canada has not issued a rainfall warning but says the rain may be enough to result in ponding of water in poorly drained areas.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority says strong wind throughout Tuesday will create wave heights on Lake Erie predicted to be between 1m and 1.5 m. Officials say there is a risk that wave action could damage shoreline protection works and cause shoreline erosion in vulnerable areas along Lake Erie.

This notice is in effect until Wednesday.
