Wallaceburg Murder Suspect Appears In Court

A Wallaceburg woman charged with murder will continue to be held in custody.

Kourtny Audette appeared in Chatham court via video link on Wednesday morning. She was remanded in custody.

Audette is charged in the death of Nick Laprise of Dover Township, who was found murdered at a home at 57 Book St. in Wallaceburg on April 18.

Audette, who was previously represented by defense lawyer Gudrun Mueller-Wilm, told the court during her video appearance that she now has a new lawyer named Laura Joy.

The court has requested she appear again by video on May 9 at 10:30am to allow time to "obtain and review disclosure by the new counsel."

A publication ban is in place for all evidence discussed during the bail appearances.
