Border Officials Carry Out Immigration Raid In Leamington

The Canada Border Services Agency confirms an immigration raid took place at a business in Leamington on Tuesday.

The agency says "a number" of people were arrested for possible violations of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

In an email to BlackburnNews.com, spokesman Tim Armaly says it will not be releasing any more information at this time because "this is an ongoing investigation [and] it would be inappropriate to provide further details."

BlackburnNews.com has also reached out to the Consulate of Mexico in Leamington to confirm reports two Mexican nationals are in Toronto waiting to be processed for deportation.

At Justicia for Migrant Workers, Chris Ramsaroop confirmed 18 people were picked up in the raid Tuesday morning in a Facebook post.
